Trail Map

About the Hike:
This 4.6-mile long point-to-point trail runs through scenic seacoast forests filled with beaver swamps and wetlands. At its south end is a viewpoint over Great Bay. There are several granite benches overlooking a salt marsh at the mouth of Lubberland Creek, a perfect place for a picnic. This point is accessed by walking the half mile of the Sweet Trail south of Bay Road. Exploring the trail north of this road is optional, and you can venture up it as far as you wish. There are many more scenic places on this trail, but the Great Bay viewpoint seems to be the best. To reach this viewpoint, walk down the short spur trail from the parking area to the intersection with the Sweet Trail. To the left, the trail continues to the north. Turn right and walk 0.4 miles, crossing Bay Road to the Great Bay viewpoint.
